These Terms of Service, together with our other website policies, explain your rights and responsibilities when using our website or purchasing from us. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

2. Our Products and Artwork
All artwork and illustrated products offered by Joanna Gibson are created with care and attention to detail.
As much of our work is produced using traditional watercolour techniques, slight variations in colour, texture, brushwork and finish are natural characteristics of handmade artwork. These variations are part of the individual nature of each piece and should not be considered defects.
We make every effort to ensure that photographs, descriptions and colours displayed on our website accurately represent our products. However, colours may vary slightly depending on your screen, device settings and display.
Bespoke Pet Portrait Commissions
Each pet portrait is individually commissioned and painted by hand using photographs supplied by the customer.
The finished artwork will be an artistic interpretation of the supplied reference photographs rather than an exact photographic reproduction. The composition, colouring, details and overall appearance will reflect the nature of the watercolour medium and my individual artistic style.
Customers are responsible for supplying clear, suitable reference photographs. The quality, lighting, resolution and positioning of the photographs can affect the level of detail achievable in the finished portrait.
By placing a commission order, you acknowledge and accept the individual and handmade nature of the artwork.
3. Orders and Commissions
When placing an order, you are making an offer to purchase a product or commission from Joanna Gibson.
All orders are subject to acceptance and payment. An order confirmation email will be sent once your order has been received.
For bespoke commissions, work will be undertaken according to the details agreed at the time of booking.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where necessary, including where a product is unavailable, an error has occurred in the listing or we are unable to fulfil the commission.
Please check your order details carefully before completing your purchase, as changes or cancellations may not be possible once an order has been accepted or work has commenced.
4. Prices and Payment
All prices are displayed in the currency stated on the website at the time of purchase.
Prices may be changed at any time, but any changes will not affect orders already accepted.
Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in advance.
Delivery charges, taxes and any applicable additional costs will be displayed during checkout where applicable.
For international orders, customers may be responsible for additional customs duties, import taxes or local charges imposed by their country of residence.
5. Refunds, Returns and Repaints
Bespoke Commissions
All pet portraits are individually commissioned and hand-painted to order. As each piece is created specifically for the customer, we do not accept returns or offer refunds for changes of mind or personal preference.
We are also unable to offer repaints, alternative versions or alterations to completed portraits simply because the finished artwork differs from a customer's personal expectations.
The statutory cancellation right that normally applies to online purchases does not apply to goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised, as provided for under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Other Shop Products
For standard, non-personalised products purchased through the website, customers have the applicable statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law. Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order if you wish to exercise your right to cancel.
Products must be returned in their original condition, and customers are responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or incorrect.
Faulty or Damaged Items
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. If an item arrives damaged, faulty or is not as described, please contact us as soon as possible with details and photographs where appropriate.
We will assess the issue and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.
6. Shipping and Delivery
We aim to dispatch orders within the estimated timeframes provided on our website or communicated at the time of purchase.
Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the destination, postal service and circumstances outside our control.
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address at checkout. We cannot be responsible for delays or failed deliveries resulting from incorrect or incomplete address details supplied by the customer.
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes or other charges applicable to their order.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights relating to delivery.
7. Intellectual Property and Copyright
All artwork, illustrations, photographs, designs, text and other creative content displayed on this website are the intellectual property of Joanna Gibson unless otherwise stated.
Purchasing an original pet portrait, print or illustrated product does not transfer copyright or ownership of the underlying artwork to the customer.
Copyright in all commissioned artwork remains with Joanna Gibson. Customers are purchasing the physical artwork and are granted permission for personal, non-commercial use only.
Artwork may not be reproduced, copied, altered, commercially exploited, distributed or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

8. Customer-Supplied Photographs and Images
Customers submitting photographs for commissioned artwork confirm that they have the necessary rights and permissions to provide those images for this purpose.
Photographs supplied will be used to create the commissioned artwork and will not be reproduced or distributed for unrelated purposes without appropriate permission.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services, including payment providers and delivery services.
These services are operated independently of Joanna Gibson, and we are not responsible for their content, policies or practices.
Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and conditions.
